Sloppy Joe Creole (Iron-rich)

Sloppy Joe Creole (Iron-rich)

1 lb. ground beef
2 cups (16 oz.) canned tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups Total or Product 19 cereal
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
8 hamburger buns, sliced and toasted
  1. Cook ground beef in a large fry pan over medium heat until browned, stirring frequently.
  2. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Stir n tomatoes, cutting into small pieces with spoon.
  4. Add green pepper, onion, cereal flakes, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stir and cover.
  6. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
  7. Place 1/3 cup of meat mixture on the bottom half of bun and cover with top half of bun.

Servings:  8        Amount of iron per serving:  9.5 mg.

Iron helps to build and maintain healthy blood.
