Savory Scrambled Cereals (Iron-rich)
5 cups WIC cereals, such as Chex, Kix, and Cheerios
1 cup small pretzel rings
2 Tbs. butter
1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- Melt butter in a roasting pan in 250-degree oven.
- Stir Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder into melted butter.
- Toss in cereals and pretzels stirring gently to coat.
- Bake at 250 degrees for 30-40 mintues, stirring about every 15 minutes, until toasted.
Note: May add 1 cup of peanuts or mixed nuts if desired.
Servings: 6 1-cup snacks Amount of iron per cup: 8.1 mg.
