Pumpkin Bread

1 2/3 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 cup canned pumpkin
2 Tbs. water
  1. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and spices.  Set aside.
  2. Mix oil and sugar.
  3. Add eggs and beat until light.
  4. Blend in pumpkin and water.
  5. Add dry ingredients in two portions, blending well. 
  6. Pour batter into greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 65-70 minutes.
  8. Remove loaf from pan immediately and cool on wire rack.
makes 12 servings (3/4-inch slices).
