What Shots Does My Child Need?

With the numerous vaccines available today, how do you decide which ones your child needs? 

Recommended Schedule:

Hepatitis A

      1 dose after 12 months of age and again 6 - 12 months later

Polio

      2 months, 4 months, between 6 and 18 months, and again between 4 years and 6 years

DTap (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)

      2 months, 4 months, 6 months, between 15 and 18 months and again between 4 years and 6 years

Hib (Haemophilus Influenza Type B)

     2 months, 4 months, 6 months, and again between 12 and 15 months

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

     Between 12 and 15 months and again between 4 and 6 years

Hepatitis B

      Birth, 2 months and again between 6 and 18 months 

Chicken Pox (Varicella)

      Between 12 and 15 months and again between 4 and 6 years

Pneumococcal (Prevnar)

      2 months, 4 months, 6 months, and again between 12 and 15 months up to 5 years

Rota Virus (Rotateq)

      2 months, 4 months, 6 months,and again between 12 and 15 months

Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

      11-12 years recommended/ through adult

Gardasil (HPV)

      11-12 years recommended/  through 26 years

Meningococcal (Menactra)

      11-12 years recommended/ 14 and over

Flu (Influenza)

      6 months - adult, annually
