Be Well Colorado Workshops Available Through Teller County Public Health
Are you dealing with chronic health issues?
Research out of Stanford University shows Be Well Colorado helps participants cope with fatigue, frustration, pain and stress caused by living with ongoing health challenges like heart or lung disease, diabetes, arthritis or other health issues.
This chronic disease self-management program meets weekly for six weeks.

The CDSMP teaches the skills needed in the day to day management of chronic conditions in order to mantain and/or increase life's activities. Topics covered include:
1. techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation
2. appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and endurance
3. appropriate use of medications
4. communicating effecively with family, friends and health professionals
5. nutrition
6. how to evaluate new treatments
The 2 1/2 hour classes are highly participatory and are held weekly for six weeks. Adults with chronic conditions, family members or caregivers are invited to attend.
